By speaking in the same voice every time you give a command and letting the dog know they have met your expectations, they will usually begin repeating the behavior whenever they hear the same command. "no" and accompany it with a light swat with a newspaper when the animal is misbehaving, one or two times is all it should take to understand that when you say no, the animal needs stop the behavior. Some owners have no desire to discipline their canine and decide to use a dog training professional, instead. There are some breeds (pit bulls, dobermans) in which the owner will still need to take some role in the training in order for the dog to recognize their voice commands.
